On 10th October’ 2022, at around 1210 hrs, troops of Border Out Post Hakimpur, 112 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier thwarted smuggling attempts and seized 4.630 kg of silver jewelery. The estimated value of the seized silver is 1,96,923/- rupees.

The jawans on duty saw a suspicious cycle parked in the area of ​​their responsibility. When the jawans searched it, 17 packets were found from its tyres which were wrapped in transparent polythene. When they were opened, silver ornaments came out of from them.

The seized silver jewelery has been handed over to custom office Tentulia for further legal action.

The Commanding Officer of 112 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent smuggling along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. Due to which people involved in activities like smuggling are experiencing a lot of difficulties and some of them are getting apprehended, who are also being punished according to the law.
