BSF CYCLE RALLY WAS WELCOMED TODAY AT BORDER OUT POST KHUTTADAH, MALDA

BSF organizes cycle rally to mark 75th anniversary of India’s independence. Border Security Force, besides performing the primary task of safeguarding and defending the Frontiers of the Country round the clock, is also actively involved in conducting activities which promote solidarity and sportsmanship.

On 01st November’ 2022, BSF ‘Cycle Rally’ flagged off from ICP, Agartala, Tripura. The Cycle Rally flagged-off by Shri Sumit Sharan, IPS, Inspector General, BSF Tripura Frontier in the presence of senior Officers of BSF and other Civil dignitaries. The rally will be covering the Border area of Tripura Ftr, M&C Ftr, Meghalaya Ftr, Guwahati Ftr, North Bengal Ftr and South Bengal Ftr respectively. On 11th December’ 2022 the rally will be reaching at HQrs of 118 Battalion, Tagorevilla, Kolkata under South Bengal Frontier.

The objective of this ‘Cycle Rally’ is to promote the spirit of comradeship, and sportsmanship among the troops & strengthen the bond between the Border population and enhance mutual cooperation, coordination and trust thereby creating a sense of security and confidence amongst the Border population.

In view of the above, South Bengal Frontier, BSF is also organising various programs in bordering areas to felicitate the Cyclist by involving the local State Officials, school children and Border population for better coordination and understanding.

After 33 days of long journey, today on 2nd December’ 2022 the Cycle Rally reached at Border Out Post Khuttadah, Malda. Cycle rally was welcomed by Shri H N Joshi, commanding officer of 159 Battalion, (Officiating DIG of Sector Malda). Border residents appreciated this rally and organised cultural programs. They said that such events increase mutual interest between the force and the border residents. The younger generation also gets inspiration to join the force. 19 cyclists have participated in this rally. The Cycle Rally will be covering approximately 685 Km in the area of South Bengal Frontier.
