BSF JAWANS SEIZE HUGE QUANTITY OF PHENSEDYL ON INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER

(Districts: Malda, Murshidabad and North 24 Parganas)

BSF troops under South Bengal Frontier foiling the plans of smugglers, seized 544 bottles of Phensedyl from their responsibility areas along the Indo-Bangladesh Border. The estimated value of the seized Phensedyl bottles is Rs.1,11,688/-.

The incident took place on 09 April, 2023 at about 0315 hrs in the area of Border Out Post Farzipara, 141 Battalion BSF. Acting on intelligence input, when the jawans on duty sensed some suspicious activity, they immediately cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. During the search, smugglers present in the area escaped by taking advantage of darkness, and the jawans recovered 200 bottles of Phensedyl and 01 bag fire crackers from the spot.

Apart from this, troops of Border Out Post M S Pur, 70 Battalion, Border Out Post Gobardha, 153 Battalion, Border Out Post Kakmarichar, 117 Battalion and Border Out Post Asharidah, 35 Battalion seized a total of 344 bottles of Phensedyl from their responsibility areas.

The seized contraband items were handed over to the concerned agencies for further legal action.

Expressing satisfaction over the success of the jawans, the spokesperson of the South Bengal Frontier appreciated them a lot. He stated that this is only a reflection of the vigilance displayed by the BSF jawans on duty. He urged the people not to adopt the route of smuggling under any circumstances. He also stated, in strong words, that BSF jawans will not allow smuggling or any other type of crime to take place on the border and will not spare the persons involved in it.
