Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Visited BSF Meghalaya Frontier and Inaugurated Land Port Dawkil

Union Minister of State  for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai visited Meghalaya Frontier BSF and interacted with field commanders and troops on ground and discussed various operational matters and present security scenario on Indo- Bangladesh International border.

During two days visit, the Minister was welcomed by Pradip Kumar, IPS, IG of BSF Meghalaya and other senior officers at Border Out Post Dawki.

The Inspector General also briefed the Minister about the area of responsibility of Frontier, discussed the various challenges on the Indo- Bangladesh international border and measures being taken to control trans-border crimes. He took stock of operational preparedness in order to make the Indo-Bangladesh International border crime free. He applauded the efforts, intrepid bravery and dedication of BSF personnel in safeguarding the borders.

He also Inaugurated ICP Dawki in presence of Deputy Chief Minister Meghalaya, DGP Meghalaya and High commissioner of India to Bangladesh and officials of LPAI and BSF Meghalaya. The Dawki ICP is an important project of the Government of India, aimed at promoting trade and commerce between India and Bangladesh.
