The South Bengal Frontier, BSF, marked the inauguration of the 2nd Border Security Force Inter-Command Women’s Aquatic Competition-2023 with a vibrant program. This grand two-day tournament is taking place at the Kolkata Sports Association (CSA), Kolkata.
The tournament’s chief guest, Ayush Mani Tiwari, IPS, Inspector General of Frontier Headquarters South Bengal, officially opened the Border Security Force Inter-Command Women’s Aquatic Competition in the presence of Border Security Force officers, subordinate officers, and jawans.
The event commenced with a march-past featuring female athletes from the Eastern Command and Western Command of BSF. Female swimmers from 11 frontiers under BSF’s Eastern Command and Western Command are participating in this prestigious competition.
Over the course of the two-day tournament, various events such as the 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle, 200m freestyle, 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 50m breaststroke, 100m breaststroke, 50m butterfly stroke, 100m butterfly stroke, and 4×400 freestyle relay will be organized.
On the first day of the competition, Eastern Command, BSF secured the 1st and 2nd positions in the 50m Backstroke, 100m Breast Stroke, 200m Freestyle, 100m Backstroke, 50m Butterfly Stroke and 50m Breast Stroke events.
The tournament was witnessed by senior BSF officers, subordinate officers, jawans, and over 300 spectators. A brass band team delivered a captivating performance during the event, which was thoroughly enjoyed by all the spectators present in the stadium.
In opening, Chief Guest Ayush Mani Tiwari, Inspector General, expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all the organizers, volunteers, sponsors, and supporters who made this program possible. He also emphasized the importance of sports in our lives, noting that sports accelerate physical and mental development, foster teamwork, and instill patience and tolerance in players.
