Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR(S), provided Sports items to include footballs, volleyballs, first aid kit and other misc items to the children of Alpha friendship school in Ukhrul District on 23 September 2023.
The school authorities had approached Assam Rifles for assistance in purchase of sports items. The sports items provided will facilitate the school children to gain physical fitness along with building essential skills like Teamwork, leadership, patience, discipline, perseverance, sportsmanship, and confidence.
In a similar spirit Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (S) conducted a Friendly Volleyball Match between youths of village Songdai and Assam Rifles troops at village Songdai of Churachandpur district on 21 Sep 2023. This match was organized to motivate youth in the field of sports and to promote Sports Culture in border villages of Manipur. The event started with interaction with village youths followed by volleyball match and a small tea party. During the event, the youths were asked about their aspirations and were motivated for a symbiotic association and progressive career. Total 20 youngsters attended the subject event. During interaction, the youth were briefed about sports culture in India and importance of healthy and stress free life and the opportunities available in today’s environment in various sports genre. They were also motivated to follow their dream sports and bring accolades to their family, State and Country.
