ASSAM RIFLES LENDS A HELPING HAND IN RESTORING ROAD LINK BETWEEN SAMULAMLAN AND TUIRING VILLAGES OF CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT

Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) joined hands with locals in restoring the road link between Samulamlan and Tuiring villages of Churachandpur district which was non-functional due to heavy rains in the recent past.

The Village Chief of Langza, which is a remote village, approached the Assam Rifles Battalion to get the road and a heavily damaged culvert repaired. Langza village alongwith villages of Malamphei, Songpher, Langsei, Nounthang Tampak, Samulamlan, Takheihakbi, Lalumbung, Lungthang and Bungsanglen depend on this road link for sustenance.

Assam Rifles took the initiative and provided necessary assistance to the villagers to restore the road connectivity thereby enabling movement of essential supplies to these villages.

The initiative by the Assam Rifles displayed that Assam Rifles will always be standing with the people of North East, in line with their motto “Sentinels of North East”.
