On 3rd November 2023, Headquarters, Special Director General, Eastern Command, BSF initiated its annual ‘Vigilance Awareness Week’ as per the direction of the Central Vigilance Commission, which aims to promote ethical behavior and foster a commitment to eradicating corruption in the organization.
Sonali Mishra, IPS, Additional Director General (Eastern Command), administered the Integrity Pledge to all ranks at the Headquarters of the Special Director General, Eastern Command, during the Vigilance Awareness Week 2023. This solemn oath underscores the determination of individuals to uphold the highest levels of integrity in both their professional and personal lives.
In continuation of the Vigilance Awareness Week 2023 programme, Vigilance staff of HQ SDG BSF (Eastern Command) organized a series of informative sessions and quiz, debate and essay competitions on Public Interest Disclosure and Protection (PIDPI). The purpose of these sessions was to raise awareness and promote a culture of transparency and integrity within the community.
The program with a lecture on PIDPI and the screening of informative videos and jingles at the Gram Panchayat Office in the border village Sakchura Bagundi, Village Soladana. Hundreds of villagers participated in this awareness program, where pamphlets were distributed to provide further insights into the importance of public interest disclosure and protection.
Continuing the initiative, another lecture on PIDPI was conducted at BOP Sodepur and afterward at BOP Soladana of 85 Battalion, BSF, and at SHQ KOLKATA. The vigilance staff presented video content and jingles on PIDPI, accompanied by pamphlet distribution among the troops stationed at these locations, reinforcing the significance of reporting wrongdoing and protecting those who come forward.
Public Relations Officer, HQ SDG BSF (Eastern Command) said that ‘Vigilance Awareness Week 2023’ serves as a reminder that integrity, transparency, and a commitment to public welfare are paramount in our society. He further said that the administration of the Integrity Pledge and the dissemination of knowledge on PIDPI underline the dedication of law enforcement agencies and the community to work together for a more transparent and accountable future.
