Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (S) organised Wreath Laying Ceremony at the Battalion War Memorial, Joupi, Chandel District, Manipur on 12th December.
The ceremony was organised to commemorate and honour the seven bravehearts of the Bn who had made the supreme sacrifice on this day in the 1965 War. Lieutenant MD Unival, Lance Naik Tika Ram, Rifleman Bhim Singh, Rifleman Dhan Singh, Rifleman Lachhan Singh, Rifleman Balbir Singh & Rifleman Raghubir Singh Chhetri made supreme sacrifice during the war in 1965.
The ceremony began with the Officiating Commandant addressing the gathering and acknowledging the sacrifice made by the fallen heroes in the line of duty. Thereafter, the Battalion Subedar Major and the Officiating Commandant placed the wreath at the War Memorial and paid tributes to the bravehearts.
