ASSAM RIFLES ORGANISES A SECURITY MEETING WITH VILLAGE COUNCIL AND VILLAGERS OF FAR FLUNG VILLAGES OF CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT

It has been the ongoing endeavor of Assam Rifles to maintain close interaction with various communities to ensure security and earliest return to peace and tranquility. Continuing in the same vein Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarter Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) organised a Security Meeting on 11 March 2023 with village council at S Khollen village which was attended by Village Chiefs and 15 villagers of S Khollen, Henglep and nearby villages of Churachandpur District.

The mutual interaction focused on measures to ensure peace moreso in view of the upcoming elections. The villagers affirmed their support for the peaceful conduct of the elections. The villagers also shared their experiences, views, and challenges faced by them due to the outbreak of violence in the area.

Such interactions while addressing the issues faced by the villages also assist in creating mutual bonhomie and trust which are an essential ingredient to the peace restoration process in the state.

ASSAM RIFLES AND EX-MLA BIJOY KOIJAM EXTEND SUPPORT TO KWATHA VILLAGERS

Assam Rifles under aegis of HQ IGAR (South) as part of the ongoing endeavor to maintain close interaction with various communities, to ensure security and earliest return to peace, organised an interaction with villagers of Kwatha village of Tengnoupal District.

As part of the interaction Commander Sector Assam Rifles and  Bijoy Koijam, Ex-MLA met the villagers and discussed their issues and challenges. The interaction in addition to instilling confidence was also aimed to express support and solidarity with the villagers. During the visit, Bijoy Koijam and Commander of Assam Rifles distributed stationary, schoolbooks and school bags to the children. The villagers also underwent basic medical check- up and were provided medicines.

During the interaction the villagers highlighted numerous noteworthy instances of communal harmony and peaceful coexistence, showcasing resilience amidst the ongoing conflict.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS AWARENESS PROGRAMME ON AGNIVEER RECRUITMENT RALLY IN T’MINOU VILLAGE, MOREH, TENGNOUPAL DISTRICT

Assam Rifles, under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), organized a lecture cum awareness programme on recruitment of Agniveer under the Agnipath Scheme at T Minou VIllage, Moreh, Tengnoupal District on 13 March 2024. The programme aimed to encourage youths to join the Indian Army by providing insights into the Agnipath Scheme.

Aspiring youths were briefed on the recruitment procedures and the benefits available under the scheme. Assam Rifles assured eligible candidates of comprehensive assistance including pre-recruitment training encompassing physical, medical tests, and written examinations.

A total of 16 aspirants from T Minou and nearby villages actively participated in the programme.
