A tragic bus accident occurred in the early hours of Thursday morning in Dima Hasao district of Assam, leaving one person dead and several others injured. The bus, which was carrying candidates traveling from Agartala, Tripura to Guwahati for a recruitment exam at the Tripura State Cooperative Bank (TSCB), met with an accident around 12 AM near Dittokcherra.
According to reports, the bus overturned on the road due to heavy rain and hit a road divider, causing it to skid off into a drain.
The accident resulted in the death of one young aspirant from Tripura on the spot. Several other passengers sustained injuries, with six of them reported to be in critical condition. The injured were immediately transported to nearby medical facilities for treatment.
Police personnel reached the accident site and have begun an investigation into the incident. The cause of the accident is still under scrutiny, but the heavy rain and slippery road conditions are believed to be contributing factors.
