A special 10-day book fair by Bookish Santa started is being held in Guwahati’s Silpukhuri. It started yesterday and would end on 9th June 2024.
With over two lakh books across various genres, the organizers are offering books at unique prices. “Buy Books By Weight” is their tagline.
“It is our second time in Guwahati. Last year also, we had organised a similar book fair. We are receiving encouraging response from the student community.”, Rajesh Kumar Choudhury, Co-founder of Bookish Santa told NE India Broadcast.
He added, “We are going to expand this book fair to Tripura and Mizoram, after receiving a positive response from Meghalaya. We may expand to other Northeastern states next year.”
He further added, “Today’s generation is growing up surrounded by mobiles and the internet. But once the young generation explores the world of books, they would fall in love with it too.”
Meanwhile, the book fair is being organised at the Silpukhuri Rajahuwa Namghar, Near Silpukhuri Bus Stop. The timing is 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
