The 10-day Kabbadi Coaching and Acclimatization Camp, organized by the Kabbadi Association of Sikkim, successfully concluded at Lingdok Senior Secondary School in East Sikkim. A total of 60 boys and girls from all districts of Sikkim participated in the camp, which aimed to hone the skills of budding Kabbadi players.
According to Lalit Pokhrel, General Secretary of the Kabbadi Association of Sikkim, the camp was part of a broader initiative to establish Sikkim as a Kabbadi hub in the near future. It also served as a preparatory step for the upcoming State Level Kabbadi Championship, scheduled to take place from January 5 to 7, 2025.
The closing ceremony was graced by YadhuNath Sharma, Deputy Director of the Sports & Youth Affairs Department, Government of Sikkim, who attended as the Chief Guest. The event also saw the presence of Association President Tashi Lepcha and Vice President Purna Sharma.
The camp, which provided both coaching and acclimatization for the participants, was seen as a significant step in promoting Kabbadi and nurturing talent across the state.
