The Border Security Force (BSF) has once again proved its dedication towards serving the people residing on the border. On the night of March 17, 2023, the BSF jawans of the Border Out Post Shikarpur, 86 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier, came to the rescue of a woman in labor.

Arpita Mandal (20) of village Dhakola, near the Indo-Bangladesh border, experienced labor pains but faced difficulties in reaching the hospital due to the lack of transportation facilities in the village. The relatives of the woman approached the company commander of BSF Border Out Post Shikarpur, who immediately dispatched a BSF ambulance along with a nursing assistant to her house. The woman was taken to Karimpur Hospital, and her condition is now out of danger.

The woman’s husband, Subhash Mandal, expressed his gratitude towards the Border Security Force for their humanitarian work. He stated that BSF is always ready to support the villagers in every happiness and sorrow.

The Commanding Officer of the 86 Battalion expressed his satisfaction over this commendable work of the jawans. He emphasized that the Border Security Force is not only focused on curbing crimes on the border but also committed to the welfare of the border residents.

This noble act of the BSF jawans has once again shown their commitment towards serving the people residing on the border.
