Brahmaputra Board under Ministry of Jal Shakti, Government of India organized a cleanliness drive by shramdaan along the roadside near Brahmaputra Board HQ Office, Guwahati at Basistha, Guwahati on 01st October, 2023 from 10:00 AM onwards as a tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his birth anniversary as part of the initiative of Government of India “Swachhata Pakhwada – Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2023”.
Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Bhubaneswar Kalita joined as Chief Guest in the cleanliness drive. About 150 participants joined in the shramdaan activity. Bhubaneswar Kalita expressed his gratitude to Prime Minster of India for the call for shramdaan activity with the involvement of local public all across the Nation. He further urged everyone to include the habit of swachhata in their day to day activities and contribute towards “Garbage Free India”.
Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Bhubaneswar Kalita paid tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on the eve of his birth anniversary remembering his contribution to the Nation. On this auspicious occasion, he also planted a sapling stating the a clean hygienic environment is a key towards development of a society.
