Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma appeals to opposition MLA to join BJP.
Sarma’s announcement comes a day after Congress MLA Rupjyoti Kurmi resigns from Congress.
On Monday Kurmi may additionally be part of the saffron party.
In Assam Assembly, the BJP presently has 60 MLAs, even as its allies AGP has nine and UPPL five.
There are speculations that a few Congress leaders, including an MLA, will quit the party and join the BJP within the next few days.
Opposition leader Debabrata Saikia has termed Kurmi’s exit from Congress as a big loss for the party.
