On 21 February, 2022 from 1000 hrs to 1515 hrs, the troops of the Border Out Post Harudanga, 117 Battalion, under South Bengal Frontier organized free medical camps for the welfare of border residents to develop mindset and mutual trust and good image towards the Force.
During this program many villagers from different villages came to this camp. In which a large number of children along with men and women also participated. Free check up and medicines were distributed in the camp. Apart from this, wheel chairs were also distributed to the differently-abled. Sports items were also distributed to increase the interest of sports among the youth. The village head and members of the nearby villages were also present in this camp, who made people aware of the camp.
The people of the border area highly appreciated the camp and urged the BSF to organize more and more such camps in future.
The Commanding Officer of 117 Battalion has expressed happiness over the conduct of this camp. He stated that such programs create a good image of the force. Along with the security of the International Border, BSF also takes care of the health of the border people. By organizing such camps, check-ups and medicines are easily available to the needy people.He also stated that such programs will be organized in the border areas in future also.
