BSF APPREHENDED FIVE (THREE WOMEN AND TWO CHILDREN), HANDED OVER TO THE BORDER GUARD BANGLADESH AS HUMANITY AND GOODWILL

On 03 April, 2022, at midnight, vigilant troops of Border Out Post Ranghat, 68 Battalion detained three women along with two children while crossing the International Boundary illegally. One of which is 23-year-old Kanalika Rai, resident of Samaspur village in Jessore district of Bangladesh and her 3-year-old son, second is 20-year-old Babita Biswas of Dunbasoon village in Gopalganj district, along with her four-year-old son, and the third woman is Sapala Khatoon a resident of Kagmadi village in Jessore district.

During Investigation it emerged that Kanalika Rai had come to India with her husband in 2014 and lived in Kaliganj in Nadia district. The same Babita Biswas 2016 married Sukheen Biswas, a resident of Chakdah, District Nadia. Apart from this, Sapala Khatoon revealed that she lives in Navi Mumbai, Thane, Maharashtra with her husband Yasin Sheikh, who is an Indian citizen. Further everyone revealed that they was going to Bangladesh to meet her family and relatives.

Apprehended Two women and a child were handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh due to humanity as well as goodwill gesture. One woman and her children were handed over to the Police Station Baghdah.

Sh. Yoginder Agrawal, Commanding Officer of 68 Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent illegal movement along the Indo-Bangladesh border, due to which some people are being caught. Considering the seriousness of the crime of the apprehended people and due to mutual cooperation and goodwill gesture of the both Border Guarding Forces of the countries some of them are handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh.
