On April 14, 2022, at around 0310 hrs, the jawans of Border Out Post Mahendra, 08 Battalion conducted a special operation on the basis of specific input and took a youth into custody with 60 bottles of Phensedyl. While one of his companions ran back after seeing the BSF jawans. The apprehended smuggler has been identified as Kabir Miya, age 19 years, S/o- Mostobari Miya, village Chaptala Kusumpur, District-Zenaidah, Bangladesh.
During interrogation, Kabir Mian revealed that he had come to India to take Phensedyl with Suzanne, a resident of Pipulberia village and was going back to Bangladesh with Phensedyl from near Bhajanghat. He further revealed that Sobuj Mian, a resident of his village, father’s name Alim Miya is the head of the smuggling gang, on whose instructions they were doing this work.
BGB told BSF that the apprehended smuggler was also on their target but they were not able to arrest him red handed. The BGB said that if the youth is handed over to them, the information received from him can go a long way in eliminating the big smuggling gang. After which BSF handed over the smuggler to BGB.
Smuggling gang on both sides of the border has to be eliminated
In a statement issued by BSF, it was stated that BSF is making every effort to stop smuggling along the border. Due to the active smuggling gangs on both sides of the border, it is not BSF, but Border Guard Bangladesh has also determined to eliminate those gangs. A smuggling gang operating in Bangladesh can be busted.
