On dated 27 May, 2022, at 0340 hrs of 68 Battalion Border Out Post, Ranghat, vigilant troops detained 4 Bangladeshi nationals while crossing the International Boundary illegally whose identity is 1. Tjiul Sardar (37), his wife 2. Naseema Begum (31) District – Satkhira, Bangladesh, 3. Shahenur Begum (35), District – Khulna (Bangladesh), 4 – Naeem Hussain (23), District – Kerniganj (Bangladesh).
During interrogation, he told that he is a Bangladeshi citizen, but due to unemployment, his family was finding difficulties in sustenance of livelihood, due to which all of them were coming to India for employment. But the BSF troops apprehended while they were illegally crossing the IB.
The apprehended people have been handed over by BSF to Border Guard Bangladesh as a gesture of goodwill and humanity.
Pranab Prabhakar, Officiating Commanding Officer of the 68th Battalion stated that the Border Security Force is taking strict measures to prevent infiltration along the Indo-Bangladesh border, due to which some people are being caught. Considering the seriousness of the crime of the arrested people and due to mutual cooperation and goodwill of the Border Guarding Forces of both the countries, some of them are handed over to the Border Guard Bangladesh.
