On 28th May, 2022, 03 smugglers (including a woman) along with 3 small children were traveling by car from the area of Border Out Post Saulak under 107 Battalion. All were apprehended with 1542 Yaba tablets. It is being told that the estimated value of the seized items is Rs 7,71,000/-. All these tablets were being smuggled to Bangladesh from the border area of North 24 Parganas district. Identification of apprehended citizens – 1. Naseer Uddin Biswas (37), his wife 2. Sameena Biswas, and his son 3. Samin Biswas along with 3 minor children aged 16 months, 5 years and 8 years.
During interrogation, Naseer Uddin Biswas revealed that he is an Indian citizen, it has also been learned from him that he is involved in smuggling activities of Yaba tablet, Ganja and Phensedyl. He buys Yaba tablets, Ganja, Phensedyl from smugglers and sells them across the BSF duty line from Bangaon border areas. Even today he was going to sell the tablet to a smuggler after buying 1542 Yaba tablets. Today he was going with his family by keeping the tablet in an Alto car, but was apprehended by the BSF party with 1542 tablets.
The apprehended smugglers and the seized materials have been handed over to the concerned Police Station Baghdah for further legal action.
Rajendran, Acting Commanding Officer, High Officer of 107 Battalion expressed happiness over this achievement of his jawans. He has also asked for help of Police Officers and other agencies of his area to eliminate smuggling. He added that in front of the vigilance of the troops, now the smugglers have broken their knees. sometimes when a smuggler acts, he is caught red handed by the BSF jawans.
