Due to the initiative of BSF, relatives living in Bangladesh got their last glimpse

The incident happened in Malda district border village is of Kistopur. The village headman, Sajjad Ali, told the Company Commander of the 44 Battalion Border Out Post Kistopur that a woman named Rumi Khatoon in his village Kistopur had died on June 12, 2022 at around 1200 hrs at the Medical College Kolkata. And some of their relatives live across the border in the border village of Chandshikhari, District- Chapai Nawabganj Bangladesh which is located at a distance of about 01 km from the international border. If the BSF helps, then their relatives will get the last glimpse of the deceased.

The Company Commander immediately contacted his counterpart Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in this regard without any delay keeping in mind the humanitarian and emotional aspect. Following the request of the BSF, the BGB also stepped forward considering the humanitarian approach. Therefore, in view of mutual cooperation, the Border Security Forces of both countries, keeping humanity paramount, arranged for the relatives living in Bangladesh to have their last glimpse on the zero line near the International Boundary on June 13, 2022 from 0800 to 0815 am. In this way the last glimpse of his relatives became possible. After the last glimpse , the relatives of the deceased expressed their gratitude for this initiative of the Border Security Force and said that due to the humanity of BSF, we have got the last glimpse of our sister.

On this episode, the commanding officer of the 44 Battalion stated that BSF troops are deployed on the border day and night without blinking and take care of the security of the country as well as their religious and social values ​​including the happiness and sorrow of the border residents. He emphasized that while the Border Security Force is against those with ill-intentioned motives, it is always ready when it comes to humanity and human values.
