18th Inspectors General Border Security Force- Region Commander Border Guard Bangladesh Level Border Coordination Conference is being held in Kolkata from 13th November to 16th November, 2022, today. The BGB delegation arrived in India on Sunday morning via the ICP Petrapole-Benapole of both the countries.
The 11 member of BGB delegation is being led by Brig General A B M Nowroj Ehsan, BSP, psc, Additional Director General, Region Commander, North West Region, Rangpur. The BGB delegation consists of K M Azad, BPM, (sheba), PPM (sheba), psc Additional Director General, Region Comdr, SW Region, Jashore and other 09 delegates.
The 11 member of BSF delegation is being led by Dr. Atul Fulzele, IPS, IG, BSF, South Bengal, Ftr. The BSF delegation consists of Shri Ajay Singh, IG, BSF, North Bengal Ftr, Shri Kamaljit Singh Banyal, IG, BSF, Guwahati Ftr and other 08 delegates.
During the Conference, various issues of mutual interest for Effective Border Management had been discussed which include Joint efforts against Trans-Border crime, concurrence in connection with pending developmental works, measures to check illegal cross border movement. Both the sides shared their agenda points with each other. The matter related to Coordinated Border Management Plan is also being discussed which include Simultaneous Coordinated Patrols both during day and night, sharing of Intelligence, identification of vulnerable areas and increase frequency of meetings at all level, conduct of various other activities which may go a long way in enhancing confidence building between both the Border Guarding Forces and confidence building measures between both border guarding forces to instill faith and confidence among border population of both side.
