BSF ORGANIZES MEDICAL CAMPS, CIVIC ACTION PROGRAMS, AND FREE EYE CHECK-UPS FOR VILLAGERS ON THE BORDER

Various battalions under the South Bengal Frontier organized medical camps, civic action programs, and free eye check-ups for villagers living on the border in districts of Malda and Murshidabad. BSF jawans distributed free medicines and domestic items to those in need, promoting mutual trust towards the force and improving the welfare of the people.

On February 23, 2023, a free medical camp was held at the football ground of Tetulpada village under Border Out Post Sirsi and Anuradhapur, 44 Battalion. Villagers from nearby villages including Tetulpada, Banpur, Anuradhapur, Kalaibari, Sirsi, Tilson, Jotkavir, and Shrirampur participated in the event. Approximately 55,000 medicines were distributed to the villagers, and a team of three doctors examined patients and provided information on maintaining good health.

In another civic action program on the same day, jawans from Border Out Post Khairtala, 117 Battalion distributed domestic items to 80 villagers from Bapupada Puratan Degree villages. Sports goods and stationery were also distributed to promote sports among youth and children. Village members Rubina Biwi and Jorina Biwi attended the event.

In addition, troops from Border Out Post Sagarpada, 141 Battalion organized a medical camp where they conducted free eye check-ups for school children and nearby villagers. Approximately 55 primary school children and 66 villagers were provided with free eye examinations and medicines.

The people of the border area appreciated the efforts of the BSF and expressed a desire for such camps to be organized in the future.

The Public Relations Officer of the Border Security Force stated that such initiatives are an integral part of the BSF’s community outreach program.The BSF is committed to the welfare of the border residents and will continue to organize such programs in the future to ensure the well-being of the people living in border areas.
