On February 27, 2023, troops of Border Outposts Boltala, Charalkhali, and Sahebkhali, 118 Battalion under South Bengal Frontier, organized civic action programs for Border residents at Kanakanagar Shristidhar Higher Secondary School, Sanderbil, Nityananda High School, and Shiksha Bhavan School, respectively.
In these programs, more than 800 villagers, teachers, and school children from nearby villages participated. At the same time, to make youths and children aware of sports, sports goods, and stationery were distributed for their studies. The villagers were distributed their essential items and household items.
Apart from this, the jawans of the Border Outpost Angrail 158 Battalion organized a free medical camp for the Border residents. The team of doctors conducted a medical checkup of the villagers and distributed free medicines to them as per the doctor’s prescription. Approximately 300 villagers from nearby villages took advantage of the camp.
The people of the Border area highly appreciated the camps and urged BSF to organize more such camps in the future.
The Public Relation Officer of South Bengal Frontier stated that the BSF remains committed to its efforts to promote the welfare of the border residents and the communities around the border areas. These initiatives are a part of its commitment to fostering mutual trust and cooperation with the local communities.He also stated that such programs would be organized in the future also in the Border areas.
