In a significant operation conducted on June 10, 2023, based on reliable information, the alert jawans from Border Outpost Daulatpur, 115 Battalion under the South Bengal Frontier, successfully intercepted and seized a consignment of counterfeit Indian currency notes worth Rs. 3,88,500/-.
The vigilant jawans stationed at the Daulatpur border post noticed suspicious movements on both sides of the border fence during the late hours of the night. Acting swiftly, they surrounded the smugglers. However, taking advantage of the cover provided by darkness and dense bushes, the smugglers managed to evade capture. Nevertheless, the jawans discovered a packet containing Rs. 777 notes, all in the denomination of ₹500, constituting Indian counterfeit currency.
Subsequently, the seized counterfeit currency was handed over to the Baishnavnagar Police Station for further legal proceedings.
The commanding officer of the 115 Battalion expressed utmost satisfaction with the commendable achievement of the BSF jawans, emphasizing the unwavering commitment of the Border Security Force in maintaining round-the-clock vigilance to prevent smuggling across the border.
