Under the aegis of IGAR (South), Assam Rifles and the Indian Army hosted two dynamic community engagement events aimed at fostering camaraderie and holistic development among the youth in Manipur.
In Alpha Friendship School, Kachai village, Ukhrul district, Assam Rifles organised ‘A Day with Company Commander,’ bringing together 200 students and 20 staff members for a day filled with team-building activities. From the classic Sack Race to the adrenaline-pumping Tug of War, the event emphasized the value of teamwork and unity among the children. Simultaneously, a Medical Camp catered to the healthcare needs of over 270 residents, including villagers and school children, addressing a longstanding demand for medical assistance in the community.
In a parallel initiative, the Indian Army hosted a vibrant event titled “A Day with Company Commander” at COB Waroiching, Bishnupur. Approximately 200 children from diverse backgrounds actively participated in sports and interactive sessions, showcasing their talents and competitive spirit. The event also featured a weapons display, offering participants a firsthand experience with military equipment.
Both events underscore the commitment of Assam Rifles and the Indian Army to engage with local communities, particularly youth, through initiatives that promote camaraderie, sportsmanship, and awareness about career opportunities within the armed forces. These efforts not only strengthen bonds but also contribute to the overall peace and harmony in the region, garnering appreciation from village authorities for their invaluable contributions towards community development and mutual trust-building.
