“EK PED MAA KE NAAM PLANTATION DRIVE” COMMEMORATES TERRITORIAL ARMY PLATINUM JUBILEE

In order to promote environmental conservation and community involvement, the 119 Territorial Army Infantry Battalion at Kench’s Trace, Shillong, organized a plantation drive today under the Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative. The event was graced by the presence of Smt. H. Lato, IFS, Divisional Forest Officer of the Social Forestry Division, East Khasi Hills, and was held in celebration of the Territorial Army’s platinum jubilee.

Led by Colonel Devashish Nayak, the troops of the battalion planted hundreds of saplings, symbolizing a united commitment to nurturing and protecting the environment. This drive is part of a broader effort to promote afforestation and sustainable living practices.

H. Lato, in her address, highlighted the importance of such community-driven initiatives in safeguarding our ecological future. “The Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam initiative exemplifies the power of collective action in addressing environmental challenges.
