Rise of AAP and TMC in Assam is perhaps a political alternative to Congress!

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Assam is seen to have a gradual hold in the minds of a section of the public with the passing time. This is specially after the Assam Legislative Assembly Elections 2021.

Joining the AAP in several districts are supporters from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) or Indian National Congress (INC). This is certainly a boost to the party that was born out of Anti-Corruption movement in India, a couple of years ago.

The Aam Aadmi Party opened account in Guwahati Municipal corporation which was held in April 2022.

During this ongoing time of Assam floods, AAP and All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) in Assam is seen to have distributed major relief materials to the victims. Seemingly a confidence building measure besides extending helping hand to the flood affected, this is indeed praiseworthy.

“In Dhubri district today General Secretary of Dhubri District Congress Committee Shri Manju Sarkar along with 12 others joined AITC Assam. I wholeheartedly welcome them all to our Assam Trinamool Congress family.”, reads a tweet by AITC Assam Chief Ripun Bora yesterday evening.

“People of Assam are facing a severe drinking water crisis. To stand beside them amidst the ongoing crisis, today our leaders and workers distributed drinking water in heavily flooded areas. Beside you, come what may!”, reads a tweet by AITC Assam yesterday evening.

Meanwhile, The Congress in Assam continues to be the prime opposition while raising issues of social interest among the common people and extending a platform to voice opinion. It would be noteworthy how these parties form their base among the voters ahead of the elections next!
