BSF has been performing its duties on the International Border with great sincerity and in this work, BSF also works in good coordination with the Police and other Agencies. Such a joint operation was carried out on the morning of June 14, 2022 at about 0805 hrs by Border Out Post Rangipota of 82 battalion and Bhimpur Police Station troops on the basis of specific input received from BSF in which a search operation in Muslimpada area of Rangiyapota village, a woman was detained with a drug called Tapentodol 1140 strips whose market value is 2.6 lakhs.
The woman is a resident of Rangiyapota, a border village in Nadia district of West Bengal, whose name is Arju Bibi Mandal, age 58 years, W/o Sadhu Mandal.
The apprehended woman admitted that she was given these medicines by Uttara Malik, a resident of her village. She further revealed that whom she was about to hand over to the Bangladesh smuggler. For this work Uttara owner had given him 500 rupees.
The apprehended woman had been handed over to the Police Station Bhimpur along with the seized items.
Sanjay Prasad Singh, Commanding Officer of 82 battalion stated that we will not allow any kind of cross-border smuggling from our area. Further, the official stated that the Border Security Force is confiscating the banned items in the border area while exchanging necessary information with the Police and other Agencies.
