The three days Ledu Xakha Xahitya Xabha biennial convention concluded successfully on Saturday with a colorful cultural procession was taken where various people irrespectiveofcaste, creed, race, language and religion took part.
The procession was taken out from NH-315 Ledu where newly elected president of Ledo Xakha Xahitya Xabha Dr. Ranjit Dutta took part in the colourful procession with a well equipped vehicle.
The newly elected president was welcomed at the late Rajini Gogoi Memorial stage by Babita Das Choudhary and her troupe with our Assamese Anthem.
The procession was attended by 30 cultural groups from various places of Margherita Constituency Tinsukia district.
An open session was held where newly elected president Dr Ranjit Dutta presided the meeting where Jagat Changmai president of Reception committee delivered the welcome speech.
The whole programme was moderated by Rana Jyoti Neog newly elected General Secretary of Ledo Xakha Xahitya Xabha.
In his speech, the newly elected President Dr. Ranjit Dutta explained the colorful history of Ledu which is great example pf unity in diversity and how Ledu has advanced the process of building a strong nation.
At the Arjun Barua president of Tinsukia Zilla Sahitya Sabha and Dr Mausam Baruah HOD department of English Salt Brook Academy, Dibrugarh were present as chief guest where by Dr. Kripa Prasad Upadhyay, Phulmai Phukan, Sufati Pamung Milli, Supriya Gupta, Damburudhar Neog, Loknath Konwar, Kailash Gupta, Lakshinath Halwa, Chandra Gautam, Sukhdev Sharma, Ramprasad Ambedkar, Pappu Dutta, Lakshyadhar Sonwal, Pabithra Borgohain and many other dignitaries and resource persons were present.
During the open session folk artists of 124 number Margherita Constituency such as Mon Maut, Bhagirath Das and Sanjeev Barua, Bhola Dutta were felicitated for their outstanding contribution for promoting folk music and dance.
The 11 member executive committee of Ledu Xakha Xahitya Xabha for the year 2022-24 was formed with Dr. Ranjit Dutta as President, Madhavdayal Dutta as Vice-President, Ranajyoti Neog as General Secretary, Sukhdeb Sharma as Assistant Secretary and Lakshinath Halwa as Treasurer.
The 55 flags of the Assam Sahitya Sabha were hoisted on 16 December by 55 distinguished and resource persons Ledo region.
After that Swahid tarpan where 55 earthen lamps were lited by Jagat Changmai president of Reception committee where Sukhdev Sharma executive President of reception committee,Dr Dipali Borpujari former president of Ledo Xakha Xahitya Xabha and many resource and distinguished persons were present.
A poetess meet was held on the second day of the programme which was presided by Dr. Ranjit Dutta president of Asom Kabi Sanmelanoni Tinsukia district committee where president of Tinsukia and Dibrugarh District Poet Association Dr. Nilakshi chaliha Gogoi was present as the chief guests.
Total 45 poet and poetess from different places of Assam participated in the poetess meet.
At night a cultural event was held which was inaugurated by Dr. Manoj Gogoi where Abha Bardoloi, Dr. SR Das, Aarti Biswas, Taraprasad Dihingia, Lucky Nath and Manik Sen Chowdhury local artist of 124 number Margherita Constituency enthralled the present audiences.
The event concluded with performance by “Pothar Shilpi” Lohit Gogoi and Maina Himadri.
