Administrative Assistance to Seikhor Village -24 December 2023:
Responding to a formal request from Seikhor village authorities in Ukhrul district, Assam Rifles provided administrative support by distributing 100 plastic chairs and two Almirahs to enhance the infrastructure of the Village Council Office and Community Hall. The gesture was met with gratitude from the villagers, further strengthening the enduring goodwill and peaceful coexistence between Assam Rifles and the community.
Civic Action Project and Medical Camp in Chongjang Village, Tengnoupal District – 23 December :
Under the Civic Action Project, Assam Rifles, under the aegis of HQ IGAR(S), conducted a medical camp at Chongjang village on 23 December 2023. Medical teams, including six doctors from Imphal, examined sick patients and provided medical aid to 155 individuals, enhancing the overall health of the community. The Medical camp concluded with the distribution of refreshments to the patients, marking another successful community-oriented effort by Assam Rifles.
Joint Security Meeting in Moreh – 22nd December:
A crucial joint security meeting took place at Police IB Moreh, involving Assam Rifles, IRB, Police Cdos, and the SP, to assess and enhance the security situation in the region. The meeting focused on reviewing and fortifying existing security measures in Moreh. Participants engaged in comprehensive discussions on current security challenges, analyzing recent developments and formulating strategic plans to address potential threats effectively. This collaborative effort underscores the proactive approach taken by law enforcement agencies to maintain a secure environment in Moreh.
Donated computer set to philanthropic organization:
With an endeavour to lend helping hand to the needy local people in the times of ongoing crisis, Assam Rifles found a way to reach the masses by shortlisting Philanthropic civil society organisations who have been effectively and unceasingly working for the society. Kuki Khanglai Lawmpi has been looking after sixtyeight internally displaced persons relief camps by providing them medical facilities, free ambulance service, online doctor consultation and running a free pharmacy since 3rd May. without a computer set and accessories. To address the difficulties faced by the organisation Assam Rifles donated a computer set for effective management of the internally displaced persons and to keep a proper record of their services.
Friendly Volleyball Matches in Chandel, Ukhrul & Churachandpur Districts – 22nd-24th December 2023:
Assam Rifles organized Friendly Volleyball Matches at Hengshi village in Chandel district, Poi village ground in Ukhrul District & Suangdoi Village in Churachandpur district on 22 & 24 December 2023. These events aimed to motivate the youth in the field of sports, providing them with opportunities to showcase their skills and sportsmanship. The young sports enthusiasts participated, reflecting the values of sportsmanship and friendly competition. Assam Rifles highlighted the rich sports culture in India and the diverse opportunities available in various sports genres in today’s environment. The village authorities and youth conveyed their appreciation for Assam Rifles’ efforts and encouraged more such initiatives for mutual betterment.
