ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTS WREATH LAYING CEREMONY TO HONOUR BRAVEHEARTS AT MANTRIPUKHRI

Assam Rifles organised a wreath laying ceremony for No G/411732K Rfn/GD (Late) Dinesh Prasad, SM of 4 Assam Rifles who gave supreme sacrifice in the service of the nation. He demonstrated remarkable bravery and dedication during OPERATION JAI BAJRANG. The party corroborated the available intelligence and laid ambush at night of 01 May 1994 near Kultuk, Indo-Myanmar border. At approximately 1200 noon on 02 May 1994, the movement of insurgents was detected and fire fight started. During the fire exchange Rfn/GD (Late) Dinesh Prasad, SM sustained severe bullet injuries and succumbed to his injuries at 1245 PM on 02 May 1994. In this operation nine insurgents of NSCN (IM) were apprehended and 01 kg of explosive with fuse and detonator was recovered. Rfn/ GD (Late) Dinesh Prasad, SM was awarded Sena Medal (Posthumous) for his Gallantry action.

Assam Rifles honoured the brave heart by paying homage at War Memorial to his supreme sacrifice for the cause of the Nation disregarding his personal safety. The ceremony commenced with the wreath laying followed by motivational speech delivered to all ranks narrating the story of the brave heart in the service of nation.

Two Officers, six Junior Commissioned Officers and 30 Other Ranks of Assam Rifles paid tribute by laying wreath and according Guard of Honour.

ASSAM RIFLES CONDUCTED SECURITY COORDINATION MEET AT SONGDO VILLAGE, CHURACHANDPUR DISTRICT, MANIPUR

Assam Rifles conducted Security Coordination Meet along with Army & CAPF representatives at Songdo Village, Churachandpur district of Manipur on 01 May 2024.

The meet witnessed a healthy participation of village authorities including the village Chiefs and Civil Society Organisation representatives. The said meet provided a platform to all concerned for brainstorming the current security issues & measures required to enhance the security for coming days. 24. Villagers shared their views about the challenges faced and gave their whole hearted assurance to Assam Rifles in the process of maintaining peace.

During the meet, locals were sensitised and updated on current security situation and were encouraged to align their efforts towards the larger goal of peace and prosperity in the region. Ten Village Chiefs from Moulhoi, Songdo, T Chawangphai, Mongjang, Pholijang, Old Gothal, New Gothal, Phoisenbung, P Geljang & Trilok attended the said meet. Attendees expressed their solidarity to fight the odds for keeping the area peaceful and safe.
