Bengali film actress Srabanti Chatterjee quits BJP on Thursday.
In a Tweet, Srabanti Chatterjee said, “Severing all ties with the BJP, the party for which I fought the last state elections. Reason being their lack of initiative and sincerity to further the cause of Bengal…”
In the 2021 West Bengal Assembly she lost to heavyweight TMC candidate Partha Chatterjee in Behala West Assembly Constituency by more than 50,000 votes.
In the last Assembly election, BJP won 77 seats and 4 MLA already switched TMC.
