Collectively, the Indian Army play crucial roles that include: Upholding the Constitution and protecting national interests by employing deterrence and combat strategies against external threats and also aiding civil authorities and agencies during natural disasters and internal security challenges upon request.Besides this, Indian Army has a great role to empower the students which is most important for nation building.

In a stirring testament to its commitment to youth empowerment, the Indian Army organised National Integration Tour aimed at students gearing up for their future development.

Assam Rifles at the behest of the Indian Army organised such a National Integration Tour for the students of Nagaland recently.

Students of Modern College, Piphema visited western India as part of this outreach programme and have been sharing their experience with me.

In this ongoing series today, I am sharing Livitoli Swu’s story.

An Education student, Livitoli believes Indian Army’s NIT initiative will help to make a stronger nation.

“National integration tours are such great initiatives. It’s a wonderful way to promote unity and understanding amongst different regions and cultures. I am glad, the Indian Army and Assam Rifles are taking the lead in fostering harmony. It’s important for us to come together and celebrate our diversity.”

Asked how was her visit to Ahmedabad, Miss Swu replied.

“It was an absolute delight exploring that vibrant city in western India. The rich history and culture of Ahmedabad left me in awe. The highlights of my visit include the Sabarmati Ashram, where Mahatma Gandhi lived. But my most favourite place was the Atal bridge. It is a such soothing place and I would not miss the chance to revisit that spot if I go there for a second time.”

Accordiing to Livitoli Ahmedabad truly has a unique charm which she always wants to cherish!

“It was such a peaceful and inspiring place. And of course, I couldn’t resist indulging in the mouthwatering foods of Ahmedabad. From delicious Gujarati snacks, to the iconic Gujarati thali, my taste buds were in paradise.”

The constant vigilance of the Indian Army and Assam Rifles in the North East is truly commendable..Livitoli thinks in a similar way.

“They work tirelessly to ensure the safety and security of the region, and I am grateful for their dedication. Their presence brings a sense of reassurance and peace of mind to all of us living here. It’s reassuring to know that they are always ready to protect and serve. We owe them a great deal of gratitude for their selfless service. “

In reply to my query how OP Sadbhavna will develop unity and integrity amongst the citizens of North East, she said..

“Definitely! The Sadbhavna project has the potential to greatly benefit the youth of North East, including Nagaland. It aims to promote peace, harmony, and development in the region, which are crucial for the overall growth and progress of the area. By fostering a sense of unity and inclusivity, the project would empower the youth to actively participate in the developmental efforts and contribute to the betterment of their communities. It’s an exciting initiative that holds promise for a brighter future in the North East.”

This tour had taught her to embrace spontaneity..Nagaland girl Livitoli reacted with a happy heart.

“Through this tour I have realised that the world is so much bigger and so much beautiful that I couldn’t imagine. Life is an adventure, live it.”

She further added-
“As a student of Education, I’m very much moved by how Gandhiji implied his educational philosophy. It was an honor to witness how Gandhiji worked throughout his lifespan educating our nation.”

In short, these tours provide an opportunity for Nagaland’s residents to experience the rich diversity of India’s cultures and traditions and help in fostering deep appreciation for the country’s unique heritage.
