BSF JAWANS ORGANIZE CIVIC ACTION PROGRAMS TO HELP BORDER RESIDENTS IN INDO-BANGLADESH BORDER AREA

The jawans of Border Outposts Kalyani and Dobarpada, 158 Battalion, under South Bengal Frontier, organized civic action programs for the welfare of border residents in the Indo-Bangladesh border area. The programs aimed at providing necessary goods to the needy villagers, including stationery, sports items, school uniforms, tri-cycles, furniture, clothes, electrical goods, and televisions, worth Rs 1,69,447/-.

Hundreds of people from nearby villages, including village heads of Angrail, Purana Bangaon, and Gram Panchayat Chaygariya, other heads, members, and teachers of the area, attended the programs as guests. Around 150 children from different schools received school uniforms and other necessary items. Ten disabled villagers living in the border area received tri-cycles, and another 50 needy villagers received furniture, clothes, electrical goods, and televisions.

The border residents expressed their appreciation for the BSF jawans’ initiative and urged them to organize such programs more frequently.

The commanding officer of 158 Battalion stated that the BSF protects the country by standing on the border, regardless of sun, storm, and rain. The BSF organizes such events from time to time for the welfare of border residents.
